Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Collab Task Studio ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These terms apply to all users, including learners, teachers, and administrators.

2. Eligibility

The App is intended for use by students and educators affiliated with Ibadaraki University or other participating institutions. Accounts must be created by or with the authorisation of an instructor. You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their permission.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that are associated with fraudulent activity.

4. Permitted Use

You may use the App solely for educational purposes in accordance with your institution's guidelines. Specifically, you agree to:

• Use the App in good faith during collaborative tasks
• Communicate respectfully with partner learners
• Not share task answers or hints in ways that undermine the learning purpose

5. Prohibited Activities

You must not:

• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorised to use
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with any part of the App
• Use the App to distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Scrape or collect data from the App without prior written consent
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose

6. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, code, and materials within the App are the intellectual property of Ibadaraki University or their respective licensors. The App is protected by applicable copyright and patent laws (特許出願済 / Patent pending).

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for educational purposes only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any App content without explicit written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or continuously available.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ibadaraki University and the Language Learning Innovation Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted within the App. Continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Japan.
